I am a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in Learning and Developmental Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. I am working on my dissertation entitled “The Learners Intuition: Harnessing Intuitions During Collaborative Music Composition Activities” under the guidance of Dr. Kylie Peppler.
I am, first and foremost, interested how to theorize, design, and capture learning especially during times when youth are engaged in making something that is mediated by technology (e.g., programing a computer, making a video, composing music). I am fascinated by the explanations kids (and adults) give about some phenomena they experience even though they have no explicit knowledge of the context in which the phenomena occurred (e.g., music, physics, math). I am also interested in how youth collaborate together using technology and how the technology, along with peers and adults, scaffolds their learning.
I also have a passion for preparing future teachers and helping them to understand the importance of how people learn and develop and how technology, when used correctly, can be a valuable tool.
